1932 – Hillel Jonathan Gitelman (1932-2015), American nephrologist; described Gitelman Syndrome (1969)
Deaths
2007 – William Francis ‘Fran’ Ganong Jr. (1924-2007), American endocrinologist and physiologist; described Lown–Ganong–Levine syndrome (1952). Sole author of his ‘Review of Medical Physiology‘ textbook for 40 years – the first 22 editions.
