Hypoxaemia post Cardiac Surgery. Management approach would be based on a systematic assessment of the patient using history, examination and review of investigations with regard to the following possible causes.
Hypoxic Brain Injury: in adults, typically occurs after cardiac arrest, trauma or drug overdose; degree of injury proportional to duration and severity of oxygen deprivation to the brain
Post-intubation hypoxia can be rapidly fatal without early intervention, which requires a structured approach to concurrently identifying and treating the underlying cause
