1972 – M*A*S*H premiered on CBS, launching a medical comedy-drama set in a Korean War Mobile Army Surgical Hospital that blended operating-theatre realism, dark humour, and anti-war themes. The series ran for 11 seasons (256 episodes) and ended in 1983 with the most-watched scripted television finale in U.S. history.
