1889 – John Alfred Ryle (1889–1950), English physician. Invented the Ryle Tube (1921) and described (and suffered from) Angor animi (1928)
1894 – Philip Drinker (1894-1972) was an an American Industrial Hygienist and chemical engineer. Inventor of the The Drinker Respirator (1929)
Deaths
1947 – Robert Meyer (1864-1947), gynaecologist and pathologist. Described the Weigert-Meyer rule (1907) regarding ureter duplication insertion.
