Ultrasound in the Field

Ultrasound in the Field with Jason Bowman

Jason Bowman reviews multiple papers that cover the merits of ultrasound use in the prehospital field. From identification of CHF, to IV starts, to a possible treatment modality for strokes.

Dr. Jason Bowman was a firefighter and critical care paramedic in Texas for 10 years before going to medical school and becoming an emergency medicine resident at the University of Kentucky.

In 2009 he started a prehospital ultrasound program and began teaching this to other medics, eventually helping form the EMSPOCUS group. Jason also co-owned and ran a porcine cardiac arrest research laboratory for 7 years and was the PI of several rat cardiac arrest research pilot trials in the Texas A&M Department of Molecular Cardiology. His areas of interest are airway management, ultrasound education and translational cardiac arrest physiology research.
