Chris is an Intensivist and ECMO specialist at The Alfred ICU, where he is Deputy Director (Education). He is a Clinical Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University, the Lead for the Clinician Educator Incubator programme, and a CICM First Part Examiner.
He is an internationally recognised Clinician Educator with a passion for helping clinicians learn and for improving the clinical performance of individuals and collectives. He was one of the founders of the FOAM movement (Free Open-Access Medical education) has been recognised for his contributions to education with awards from ANZICS, ANZAHPE, and ACEM.
His one great achievement is being the father of three amazing children.

Nick thank you for the presentation. Well communicated. Wiengart updated his recommendation of the non-breather flow rate. Last I can find, he recommends only 15L/min and simultaneous using 15L/min NC. The higher flow rates were better, but less “elegant.” 02:40 @ https://emcrit.org/dsi/
Thanks for the presentation Chris. Well communicated. Weingart, last I know, now recommends only 15 L/min via non-rebreather and simultaneous use of a 15 L/ NC. The higher non-rebreather flow worked better for preoxygentation but was less “elegant”. I tried to drop a link, but the spam filter prohibited. It’s EMCrit podcast #137 at 2:40.
