Opiate Withdrawal
The opiate withdrawal flashcard was heavily inspired by the movie Trainspotting.
In one of the earliest scenes of the movie the main character Mark Renton (played by Ewan McGregor – Obi-Wan Kenobi) tells the audience how to withdrawal from heroin at home. The necessities include: three buckets, ice cream, paracetamol, valium, milk of magnesia, 8 cans of soup, and among other things, one last hit.
In the flashcard we added the classic dead baby on the ceiling as seen later in the film. Lastly, while I didn’t include an antidote flashcard for Narcan (Naloxone), I would have surely drawn inspiration from Renton’s visit to Mother Superior.
