Deaths

1860 Robert Bentley Todd (1809-1860) was an Irish physician; described Todd’s palsy (1849), differentiated locomotor ataxia (tabes dorsalis) from paraplegia and pioneered the Electrical Theory of Epilepsy (1849)

1958Arthur Georg Läwen (1876–1958), German surgeon and anaesthesia pioneer. Rememberd for his work on sacral/extradural anaesthesia, paravertebral block, novocaine, curare and artificial ventilation.

2020 Ann J. Johanson (1934-2020), American pediatric endocrinologist; described Johanson-Blizzard Syndrome (1971)
