Deaths
1860 – Robert Bentley Todd (1809-1860) was an Irish physician; described Todd’s palsy (1849), differentiated locomotor ataxia (tabes dorsalis) from paraplegia and pioneered the Electrical Theory of Epilepsy (1849)
1958 – Arthur Georg Läwen (1876–1958), German surgeon and anaesthesia pioneer. Rememberd for his work on sacral/extradural anaesthesia, paravertebral block, novocaine, curare and artificial ventilation.
2020 – Ann J. Johanson (1934-2020), American pediatric endocrinologist; described Johanson-Blizzard Syndrome (1971)
