1883 – Ralph Milton Waters (1883-1979), American anesthesiologist; founder of the first academic program in anesthesiology, at the University of Wisconsin. Invented the Waters Airway (1930), Waters To-and-Fro Carbon Dioxide Absorption Canister (1923), and the Guedel-Waters Cuffed intratracheal tube (1928)

1562 – Gabriele Falloppio (1523-1562) , Italian priest, anatomist and clinician; described Fallopian tube (1562)
1968 – Joseph Gustav Asherman (1889-1968), Israeli obstetrician and gynaecologist; described Asherman Syndrome (1948)
1996 – Robert Andrew Hingson (1913-1996), American anesthesiologist. Developed of continuous caudal and epidural analgesia, the Hingson–Edwards malleable caudal needle (1943), Hingson Field Unit (1951), and Hingson Peace Gun for large-scale humanitarian vaccination programmes
