It’s been seven years since I made a bet with Dr Minh Le Cong on the future of intubation. The bet was that direct laryngoscopy would be gone from Queensland’s EDs by 1 January 2020. In its place, a machine from the future: the video laryngoscope. Judgement day is now upon us and it is time to settle the bet. So who has won? Let’s find out.
