1863 – Anna Wessels Williams (1863-1954), American public health physician and bacteriologist. Described the Park-Williams bacillus (1894), Williams stain (1905), and Park-Williams fixative
1900 – Priscilla White (1900-1989), American physician; described the White Classification of Diabetes in Pregnancy (1949)
1908– Edward Boyce Tuohy (1908-1959), American anaesthesiologist. Designed the Tuohy Needle (1944)

1853 – Christian Andreas (Johann) Doppler (1803-1853), Austrian physicist; described the Doppler effect (1842)
1935 – William John Adie (1886-1935), Australian neurologist; described Adie Syndrome (1931), and Adie-Critchley syndrome (1927)
