1872 – William Wayne Babcock Jr (1872-1963), American surgeon. Remembered for the Babcock forceps, Babcock-Quincke spinal needle, Babcock operation, and “soup bone” cranioplasty.
Deaths
1956 – Arthur Ernest Guedel (1883-1956), American anesthesiologist. Designed the Guedel-Waters Cuffed intratracheal tube (1928), Guedel Oropharyngeal airway (1933), Guedel laryngeal plug (1934), and Guedel classification (1937)
