1858 – Antoine Bernard-Jean Marfan (1858-1942), French pediatrician; described Marfan syndrome (1896), Marfan symptom (1896), Marfan-Madelung syndrome, and Dennie-Marfan syndrome
1872 – Jean-Athanase Sicard (1872-1929), French physician. Described Sicard’s method (1901) an epidural injection technique in which medication is introduced into the epidural space via the sacral canal

1770 – Mark Akenside (1721-1770), English physician and poet; first to describe the external manifestations of von Recklinghausen disease (NF-1) and ‘Contusio cordis‘ (1763)
1866 – Jean-Gaspard Blaise Goyrand (1803-1866), French surgeon; described Goyrand Fracture (1832)
1913 – Sir Jonathan Hutchinson (1828-1913) was an English surgeon, dermatologist, ophthalmologist, pathologist and venereologist. Described Hutchinson teeth (1858), Hutchinson triad of congenital syphilis, Hutchinson angioma (1889) [Angioma serpiginosum (AS)]
