Transforming care by minimising harm

Linda Durojaiye describes a Paediatric Emergency Department Quality and Safety Programme including:

  • Supporting and developing sustainability and resilience, and workplace leadership in our clinicians
  • M&M / Incident management
  • Medication safety
  • Implementation of a formalised Clinical Emergency Response System (CERS) in ED

Linda Durojaiye is a staff specialist at Sydney’s Children’s Hospital at Randwick. Linda and her team created a culture of safety – starting with regular team huddles to identify potential threats to safety. Using a strong leadership team they created a model of care that engaged both medical and nursing staff as well as the patient/parent consumer.
