Toyota Land Cruiser LC006 watch

LC006 is the fifth confirmed model in the Toyota Land Cruiser watch series from the 1990s, and returns to the distinctive hinged flip-top design seen on the LC001 and LC008. Here, however, the cover is almost completely opaque and incorporates three circular apertures aligned with the underlying calendar and 24-hour displays.

With the cover closed, the apertures reveal the DAY at 9 o’clock, DATE at 3 o’clock and 24-HOUR indication at 6 o’clock. The lower aperture is highlighted by the red 24-hour hand, allowing useful information to remain visible without opening the cover. Raising the hinged cover reveals the complete analogue dial.

The LC006 is powered by a Seiko Instruments VX3J quartz movement, providing conventional analogue time together with day, date and 24-hour indications. Two variants have been identified the 7117 LC006-01 with green dial and 7118 LC006-02 with black dial.

Flip-top display

The most distinctive feature of LC006 is its hinged stainless-steel flip-top cover. Unlike the open bridge arrangement of LC001, the LC006 cover conceals most of the dial when closed.

Three circular apertures preserve access to selected information. Day at 9 o’clock, date at 3 o’clock and the 24-hour display at 6 o’clock. The red 24-hour hand is highlighted through the lower window. The arrangement allows the wearer to obtain useful calendar and 24-hour information without raising the cover, while opening it exposes the complete conventional watch dial.

Movement

The LC006 is powered by a Seiko Instruments Inc. VX3J quartz movement. Its display architecture is particularly well suited to the flip-top case.

Caseback

The LC006 uses a press-fit stainless-steel caseback engraved with a Land Cruiser vehicle illustration, and LC006 model designation. Surviving examples are individually numbered xxxx/1000, returning to the limited-production numbering format.

Original packaging

Surviving LC006 sets have been found with a Land Cruiser-branded presentation box, warranty documentation, Maruman instruction manual and model-specific hang tag.

An original label confirms the green LC006-01 as product code 7117 with JAN/EAN-13 4902907571170; the contiguous sequence strongly suggests 7118 LC006-02 for the black variant.
