Toyota Land Cruiser LC008 watch

LC008 is the sixth confirmed model in the Toyota Land Cruiser watch series from the 1990s, and the third to use the distinctive hinged flip-top case design. Unlike the more enclosed three-aperture cover of LC006, the LC008 uses a broad open visor that leaves much of the underlying chronograph dial visible when closed.

Beneath the cover, LC008 returns to the Seiko/Epson YM55A quartz chronograph movement previously used in LC005, providing conventional timekeeping, date and 1/20-second chronograph functions. The combination of the hinged cover and multi-register chronograph makes LC008 one of the most distinctive designs in the series.

Three dial variants have been identified. 7122 LC008-01 with white dial, 7123 LC008-02 with green dial and 7124 LC008-03 with black dial. An original box confirms 7122 LC008-01 and JAN/EAN-13 4902907571224. The sequential product codes 7123 and 7124 for the green and black variants remain reconstructed from the surrounding series.

Flip-top display

The LC008 uses a hinged stainless-steel flip-top cover, continuing a design theme seen on LC001 and LC006. Its has a large central opening which exposes much of the chronograph dial. The lower portion of the cover forms a broad bridge carrying the LAND CRUISER name.

This allows the time display and portions of the chronograph registers to remain visible with the cover closed. Raising the cover reveals the complete dial and its three chronograph subdials. The result is less a protective cover than a smart external frame for the dial.

Movement

The LC008 is powered by the Seiko/Epson YM55A quartz chronograph movement, also found in LC005. The movement provides conventional analogue timekeeping and date together with a multi-register chronograph capable of recording elapsed time to 1/20 second.

Caseback

The LC008 uses a screw-down stainless-steel caseback engraved with the Land Cruiser vehicle illustration, LAND CRUISER logo and LC008 model designation. Surviving examples are individually numbered xxxx/1000, continuing the limited-production numbering format.

The caseback is additionally marked WATER RESISTANT 10 BAR and JAPAN MADE.

Original packaging

An original LC008 presentation set has been identified with a Land Cruiser-branded box, warranty documentation, Maruman material and model-specific identification. The box label confirms the white-dial watch as product code 7122, LC008-01, with JAN/EAN-13 4902907571224.

Together with the observed green and black watches, the product sequence supports the provisional identification of 7123 LC008-02 as green and 7124 LC008-03 as black. Original labelled packaging for these two variants has not yet been identified.
